Season 3 Episode 11 'Our Town'

Spoiler Warning!!!


Surely I didn't expect the tension to be gone.  I mean, it's TVD.  Of course there's still going to be tension.  But the scene where Damon was saying goodnight to Elena--again--on her front porch, I almost couldn't handle it!  I love what he said, though.  "It is right.  Just not right now."  I completely agree.
I wasn't convinced by Stefan's I-don't-care-about-anybody phase.  I thought he was legitimately ticked off, but he was putting up a front for Damon, Elena, Bonnie, etc.  But when he nearly drove Elena off of Whickery Bridge, he officially had me convinced.  All that matters to him is getting revenge on Klaus.  I wanted Elena to use her new, practiced kung-fu powers of Stefan for scaring her like that.  I can't believe he would do that...  Damon's right.  He truly became the worse villain.  Or is it the better villain?  And, like Damon... I'm impressed.  That scene in general was incredible.  Nina's acting!
Alaric and Meredith.  It's too soon!  I still love Jenna!  We need to get to know her before he pounces...  Okay, okay, I'm glad he's bounced back and that he's happy...ish.  I'm glad he's not moping and that he and Damon are rebuilding their bromance.  What do y'all think of Meredith, anyhow?  What about her ex, Brian (perhaps Bryan, I didn't check the credits).  I don't think it was Alaric or Meredith, but what's your opinion?
I half expected Elena to just jump off the bridge both times she was on it.  Only half.  I really believe she's going to become a vampire at some point, and I don't expect it to be when we think it'll happen.  When she was saying goodbye to the girl she used to be on the bridge, I was almost anxious for her to.
Bonnie had a point about Elena controlling Jeremy's life.  He has a right to make his own decisions.  I'm a strong believer in free agency, and I don't think it's right what Elena and Damon did, despite the fact that it was in efforts to save Jeremy's life.  For once, I agree with Bonnie.
Caroline's birthday!  After all, isn't this episode supposed to be about Caroline?  I thought the funeral idea was weird, but it turned out to be kind-of-ish cute.  But only because it made Caroline happier.  How would you like to be stuck as an eternal 17-year-old?
I feel like much of the point of this episode was to make us like Klaus.  I have to admit that it started to work on me.  I do have a soft spot for him, but no matter how sweet he is to Caroline, or how understanding he is to the Council, I cannot forget the fact that he killed Jenna.  He is responsible for a lot of evil that has happened on this show, and I am having a really hard time forgiving him.
I was shocked that Tyler bit Caroline, and I think he was, too.  Do you think he was forced to, or did it just happen?  Oh, my heart aches for Tyler and Caroline.  I wouldn't be surprised if he skipped town for a while, too.
Ah, the return of Matt's usefulness.  We've missed you, purpose.
I don't know about you guys, but all of my sympathy for Stefan melted away on that bridge.  I'm sure that was the writers' intent--and for me, it worked.
