Season 4 Episode 8 “We‘ll Always Have Bourbon Street”

So we have woken up to a very briilliant episode of The Vampire Diaries  last week with Damon and Elena all loved up! Has anyone else’s heart stopped from all this Delena they have dished out this season?
One of the highlights of this episode was certainly the way Damon was looking at her whilst twiddling with her hair.
Elena: “What’s that face?”
Damon: “I’m happy”

But of course, Caroline and Stefan are continuingly ruining our Delena scenes by ranting on about the Sire bond. It wouldn’t matter if Elena was sired or not, I think it’s the fact she’s with Damon. Imagine if she wasn’t sired to him and they were still together. Caroline and most definitely Stefan still wouldn’t agree with it. Just because Elena does everything Damon tells her to do, does not mean her feelings towards him are false. As Tyler revealed:
“Being sired doesn’t mean you feel differently about someone.
The bond affects how you act not how you feel”
Elena slept with him on her own free will, Damon didn’t tell her to do that.

Stefan didn’t need to give his epic apology to Damon. He told Elena to drink from the blood bag and she did. So now he realizes she’s sired to him. It is time to go back to 1942. May I say how ravishing Stefan and Damon were looking in their old troop outfits? It was the hats that did it for me. Definitely.

And isn’t it good to see Lexi pop into the series from time to time! She always seemed to be the key to all of the answers from the past. I love you Damon, but I hate you for sending Lexi to her death! She was the solution to all of their past situations, and she could have been a huge help to their future ones. And why weren’t Stefan and Lexi ever an item? They seemed perfect for each other. We always see a brighter side of Stefan when she’s in the picture.

Kim. I think she took it a liiiiiittle bit too far only to show that she is Alpha of the pack. Kidnapping and torturing Caroline really wasn’t a good way to go.
The thing I love about Tyler is that he always stands his ground. He previously stood up to Klaus proving that he wasn’t his little bitch. And if he can stand up to Klaus, I’m pretty sure he can stand up to anyone. And he did. Proving that he remains the Alpha, all of his pack bowed in appreciation.

Charlotte, a previous girl turned by Damon, is still after 50 years sired to him. We find out that the only way to break the sire bond is for Damon to set her free by telling her to live her life without him and to never think of him again.
At this point, I was expecting the very worst of all teary moments by the end of the episode. Whilst Damon was un-siring Charlotte, I could feel this moment being repeated to Elena, but 1000 times more painful for both of them.
Near the end of the episode, I psyched myself up with all my tissues only to find out Damon had left us with a delightful cliff hanger. I admire Damon for being prepared to make the most heart breaking decision of his life. He was willing to do this, but not for Stefan or himself, but for Elena.
“I don’t wanna do this Elena. I’m not the good guy, remember? I’m the selfish one, I take what I want, I do what I want. I lie to my brother, I fall in love with his girl, I don’t do the right thing. But I have to do the right thing by you. “
Thankfully Elena combated back with her true feelings towards him. And hopefully this will be enough for him and anyone else to realize they are true to themselves.

Expression is even worse than black magic because human sacrifices are needed to perform such terror. And we learn that the mystery know it all guy Shane is teaching it to Bonnie. What does he want do to with such dark power? And what consequences will there be for Bonnie using this magic?

We have learned quite a lot from Hayley from the past few episodes. First, she’s a werewolf. Second, she helped Tyler break his sire bond. Third, she has feelings towards Tyler and last, she has been secretly helping Professor Shane.
From her first impression, I thought she was a loyal member of the pack, never leave a man behind. However, it turns out that she’s not helping her fellow companions to get un-sired from Klaus for their own benefits, but for her own. She is planning to hand them all over to Shane in exchange for information of her parents whereabouts. Unfortunately for her, he reveals that they are dead. Despite the fact they are dead, he enlightens her by telling her:
“Just because there dead, doesn’t mean you can’t see them again.”
“We are the beginning”

Is Shane the good or the bad guy? He claims to be helping the people he has lured in.
He is teaching Bonnie expression, he wants 12 un-sired Hybrids and when reaching the end of the hunters mark, he claims he is the only guy they will need.  
He is planning something big, but is it for the good? Or for the bad?
