Season 4 Episode 9 "O Come, All Ye Faithful"





SPOILERS!…..SPOILERS!…….SPOILERS!……






Witnessing the bittersweet morning episode-intro was hard to swallow. 1st cut. It starts sweet and sun-enlightened with Elena & Damon lying in his bed. He’s making jokes, bittersweet jokes. No one is smiling by heart. It’s him who gets up first. The poor sirebond-holder is caught in a conflict: What he wants and what he’s supposed to do. “So what will you do?” Elena asks. His jaw-dropping, juicy, and so-from-the-heart answer sounds like a symphony for all DelenaFans “I want to throw you back in my bed and never let you leave.” Elena is not making it any easier, “So do it,” she answers. Time stands still and half a nation is praying, “So do it, So do it!”

*RRRRING* An awful phone call interruption. 2nd cut. _{(This badly reminds me NewMoonScene between Jake & Bella in the Swan Kitchen. Am I allowed to make Twilight comparison?? Don’t fight me!!)}  However, the words were spoken, my fantasies are running a marathon - whether the show goes on or not: Elena & Damon locked to his bed for their very existence What a dream…

3rd cut is Damon’s gaze. Elena was all he has ever wanted. But is it worth the price? He’s betraying his brother, the only family left. Elena has no more free will when it comes to Damon. And the worst: he is haunted by constant doubts if this is real. Watch his eyes carefully through the entire episode: He has lost some faith. He’s fighting himself, fighting the “let go”: What he wants and what he’s supposed to do.


The Gilbert LakeHouse: Jeremy has to fight a similar complication: His own, natural being and the new, dark Hunter instincts that tell him to kill vampires, to kill his sister. He has a creepy neutral look at Elena while he asks to invite her in (expl.: She died. He became the new owner). He asked her to come in. She passes the door and gently touches his *argh* biceps-loaded-arm. We're one step closer to a solution. You bet! When she passes him, he starts turning slowly but definitely, attacking her!! Fortunately, Elena was either prepared or simply had better instincts so that Jeremy ends up choke-held That won’t be easy… Apparently, he has a split personality when it comes to her: On the one hand, he’s there to fight the forces that make him want to kill his sister and on the other hand, he’s still attacking her, physically and literally (“She ruined our lives. She’s not even my real sister. She’s just the reason why everyone that lived has died. She means nothing to me. I will kill her even if it means I die myself. – Did it work?” both spoken by him, not even 5 seconds between!!).

See the similarities between the Sirebond and the Hunter Instincts? There’s a part in you that has emotions, feelings, wishes, needs. That’s you. And then you have other powers that lead your acting – even if it contradicts your own feelings. It’s splitting.
When it comes to Jeremy, it is. But when it comes to Delena, it’s not (in my opinion). Her feelings tell her to be with him. She was always hopeful and full of optimism when it came to her feelings about Damon. And as ProStelena it bugs me: She never ever THOUGHT about what this would mean to Stefan. She’s so into it that she somehow starts… forgetting about him? She wonders if that's the Sirebond, but my theory is that this is rather Vampirism that makes her Human feelings become more transparent. The Sirebond does not split her personality at all. Rather evoking it does, as the episode’s ending proves: After Damon told her to go home, she felt totally confused. Now, she has to act against her feelings. I don’t see the point why she should be happy now (Damon, you’re are an idiot! You can pretend that this will make you happy – You eyes speak differently!!). _{PS: When I saw Elena getting into the car, I finally believed “Yes, there’s a Sirebond. I was never 100 % sure… But seeing her act against her will… There it is.”} BTW, for Damon, the SireBond is splitting too – which is his own fault! Keeping Elena with him, he would have never stopped doubting (own doubts, own fault) and making her leave does hurt himself too (I know, he said “That will make me happy” but that’s a lie, thus: his own fault).

Oh, one more character who’s having a splitting conflict of “What he wants and what he’s supposed to do”: Tyler Lockwood - His Curse of being a Werewolf and his new role as “The Alpha”. He has the responsibility for the pack, people he hardly knows in comparison to his friends. He’s acting against them lately and this is all due to a strange power too. It’s hard to imagine he’d act that way if weren’t a werewolf or hadn’t fought the Sirebond. He’s split between feelings and new instincts too. Now, that his pack has been distinguished and (which is worse and Tyler has still to discover) his mom has been killed by Klaus, I cannot imagine how he’ll react and where this is going to end…


Here again some nice quotes and thoughts, just not to forget them:
Wowowow, did you see Jeremy chopping the wood!?? I was having those thought already in previous episode but seeing him barely naked outside of the lake house shocked me once more, deeper. He’s really turning into a kind of hulk, exploding with muscles. Where’s the cute boy we all used to like? The guys start looking physically a bit all the same (e.g. Jer & Matt) and it’s a development that I do clearly NOT embrace.
Damon: “What is Prof. Shady Pants doing here?” and more of those: Damon to Prof. Shane: “If you hypo words work, we should be singing Kumbayah around the fire by dinner.” Damon, I could kiss you for your attitude – wasn’t it a bit too much to swing an ax by saying that??
Prof. Shady Shane Pants is freaking me out! He has an answer for every accusation. He stinks. I don’t trust him, Damon, you’re right. So he can lead our friends to Silas grave? And he’s just doing it for archeological and mystical reasons. Simple discovery channel curiosity? Sure… (not!). He definitely needs the tattoo and a witch who master “expression”. What for? And why 12 sacrifices? Who Silas and what’s his power (beside being buried “alive”)?
Caroline to Tyler, kissing his face all over: “I love you even If I hate you.” Hahaha, could be me and my boyfriend
Damon to Elena: “You’re not allowed to feel this sorry for yourself, unless you’re sitting on a bar stool. Fortunetly, I travel with a bar.” As much as I like it --> Alcoholism Alert, guys. I still cannot stand the constant mention of drinking.
Klaus to Stefan: “You’ve been dodging, Caroline’s been lovely which I come to recognize is a tool of distraction … I’ve been on your side the entire time. What do you want from me? A secret brotherhood handshake?” Next to my deep deception that they didn’t create one *sighs* I wonder what Klaus expects? He’s master of mistrust. You’ll get what you give, love.
Tyler to Caroline: “I need you on my side Car. That’s all I wanted.” Damn, I like Caroline and Stefan SO MUCH together (BFF!), their talk and being there for each other, but that really sucked!!
Oh, there it happened: Stefan to Caroline (about Damon & Elena): “They’re together, aren’t they?... How together are they?... Caroline, tell me… How together are they??” … I so knew it’ll break his heart. Crashing some furniture will hardly make it easier. Maybe destroying the planet? Maybe… _{Did you see the promo for ep. 10? Stefan’s shouting at Elena? I’m afraid that he could turn back into the Ripper!!}
I felt so bad for Carol to get into Klaus’s fangs She did surely not deserve to meet this bloody WinterScroodge. Still wonder what that’ll make with Tyler Can he vene hate Klaus more?...
The MysticFalls WinterWonderland!!! By day, there were all these wonderful pale colors, gentle sunlight and fluffy snowflakes. Caroline looked especially beautiful in that winter surrounding. Maybe she’s a winter type, I don’t know. She was so beautiful!! By night, the atmosphere was kissed by sparkling lights everywhere. And the music, THE MUSIC!! It was perfectly set, even at the terrifying scenes, I loved the combination. Intriguing.
